UF Public Health Laboratory

In 2011 the College of Public Health and Health Professions opened a public health field laboratory in Gressier, Haiti that allows UF researchers to work with colleagues at the Haiti Ministry of Public Health and Population to quickly identify and contain infectious disease outbreaks. The lab is currently being used to conduct research on cholera, malaria and aquatic pathology and toxicology.

In addition to the College of Public Health and Health Professions, several organizations provided support for the UF Public Health Laboratory including FISH Ministries, the Christianville Foundation, Rotary International, the KORE Foundation, Holloway Financial Services and the U.S. Department of Defense Armed Forces Health Surveillance Center.
