Public health internships

A number of students in the college’s Master of Public Health program have completed internships in topics of public health concern in Gressier, the site of the College of Public Health and Health Professions’ ongoing work in Haiti. Project topics have included environmental testing for the waterborne diseases cholera and schistosomiasis, a community needs assessment, tuberculosis in Haiti and Haitian populations in Florida, and a spatial investigation of physical elements of the Gressier area, including housing, infrastructure and access to safe water and adequate hygiene.
